Two dead, eight injured in fatal southwest Philadelphia car crash

Two people are dead and eight others injured when a speeding SUV went out of control and flipped over several times, crashing on a nearby car in southwest Philadelphia.

Police said a gray Chevy Tahoe flipped over and landed on a black Hyundai, with seven people ejected from the Tahoe.

Witnesses reported the vehicle was speeding before losing control.

The male driver and female passenger, both in their 30s, were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Four children between ages between 8 and 14 years old suffered minor injuries and were taken by fire rescue to nearby hospitals.

One child may have suffered major injuries, police said. 

The driver and two passengers in the Hyundai were taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.
