Man randomly assaulted in broad daylight in Upper West Side Manhattan

The NYPD is looking for a suspect responsible for the assault of a man in the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

Police say a man was sent to the hospital earlier this month after a stranger attacked him while he was walking down the street in broad daylight.

The 55-year-old was suddenly pushed to the ground while he was walking in front of 2700 Broadway, near W. 103rd Street, around 2:40 p.m. on Feb. 5, police said.

The attacker, seemingly unprovoked, came up from behind and knocked the man into bushes on the sidewalk with a punch, according to police and video. He then continued to punch and kick the man as he lay curled up on the sidewalk, video shows.
