2 dead in the Bronx after speeding Mercedes driver crashes into pillar, ripping car in two

A speeding Mercedes-Benz driver lost control of his car in the Bronx and crashed into a support pillar earlier this morning, killing himself and one of two young women in the car with him, police said.

Gasper Vallejo, 32, crashed his 2016 Mercedes Benz into the pillar in front of 523 Bruckner Blvd. in Hunts Point with such force the vehicle was ripped in two at around 3:30am, police said.

All three occupants were ejected.

Vallejo and a 22-year-old passenger in the backseat died. A 25-year-old woman in the front passenger seat was taken to a Lincoln Hospital in critical condition.
