Police release bodycam video that left 18-year-old Deon Kay dead in DC

Police bodycam video shows the moment 18-year-old Deon Kay was shot dead in Washington, DC, on Wednesday.

The Metropolitan Police Department said officers responded to the 200 block of Orange Street Southeast at around 3:50pm on reports of a man with a gun.

The video shows police pull up to a parked vehicle where Kay and another man are sitting — before they both take off running.

Deon, seen holding the weapon, turns and faces the cop — who shoots him once in the chest.

Deon falls to the ground and is heard grunting, clutching his chest.

“Shots fired,” the unidentified cop radios in, who then starts looking for the gun.

“Hey, I got it. I got it,” the officer is heard saying moments later in the video after allegedly finding the gun. “This is the one that he was holding.”

Deon was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
