8 police officers face disciplinary action, 3 fired after brutal beatdown in Albany

ALBANY, NY – According to the Albany Police Department, they have completed an internal investigation into an altercation involving Albany Police and three men at a home in the city.

Police say 8 officers were served notices of discipline, three of which seek termination.

The incident stems from a call for a noise complaint on First Street back on March 16, 2019.

Responding officers were recorded on video beating three men.

In the video, you see police hitting three men who were arrested. Charges against those three men were later dropped.

Cell phone video brought to the city of Albany’s attention led to an internal investigation into responding officers. That’s when the body camera video was reviewed, leading to a criminal investigation.
